How PAYE is calculated

Jamaican income tax (PAYE) uses a progressive bracket system. For the 2026/2027 fiscal year, the first J$1,500,096of annual income is tax-free (the "personal threshold"). Income between J$1,500,096 and J$6,000,000 is taxed at 25%. Income above J$6,000,000 is taxed at 30%. NIS contributions are deducted before applying the threshold.

Filing deadlines

Employers must remit PAYE, NIS, NHT, Education Tax, and HEART/NTA by the 14th of the month following the pay period. Late payment attracts a 25% surcharge plus 1.5% monthly interest. File using the S01/S02 forms at TAJ.
